Groovy Pickleball

pickleball newbie, where should you stand?

Hey pickleball newbie, knowing where to STAND during the game, will SLOW the game down for you as if by MAGIC!

Welcome to Groovy Pickleball, we are just getting started ourselves so we are sharing tips as we learn them.

As a newbie, you need to do everything you can to SIMPLIFY the game.

The less you need to THINK about during the game, the more you can free up your BRAIN SPACE for focusing on the shot you are making.

With that in mind, we have learned there are TWO and only TWO places to stand as a pickleball newbie.

ONE – BEHIND THE SERVICE LINES.

When should you stand behind the service lines?

Stand behind the service lines only when you are serving, your partner is serving, or you are preparing to return a serve.

TWO – BEHIND THE NO-VALLEY ZONE = AT THE KITCHEN LINE

When should you stand at the kitchen line?

AS SOON AS YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY!

It is safe to move to the kitchen line after you have returned the serve.

If you are on the serving team, it is safe to move to the kitchen line only AFTER the return has BOUNCED on your side.

Focus on this for your next few games and let us know how it goes, it is helping us a ton.

Dink Happy!
